The Bible, the Book of Truth
Weeds and Wheat–By studying the bible, we can know what is true or what is false. Therefore, now let us check our faith through the bible to find out if our faith is based on the truth or falsehood. Since the truth is in the teachings of Jesus and his disciples, let us look into the bible to find the true laws of God.
The Day of Worship: Sabbath (Saturday) or Sunday
Weeds and Wheat–First, let us think about the day of worship. Since evildoers are those who disobey the laws of God, we have to find out true laws of God. Then when is the day of worship in the law of God? Let us find out the truth by examining the teachings of Jesus and disciples through the spiritual time machine (the bible).
Luke 4:16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.
Acts 17:2 As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures
Both Jesus and his disciples practiced the law of God Sabbath. They went to the church on the Sabbath Day (that is, Saturday) and worshiped God. And the bible says this was their custom which they practiced as law regularly.
The Law of the New Covenant, the Passover
Weeds and Wheat–Let us take a look at another important law of God, the Passover, which Jesus and his disciples kept. The bible records that Jesus and his disciples kept the Passover.
Luke 22:14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Following Jesus’ example, the disciples of the early church also kept the festival of the Passover.
1 Corinthians 5:7 … For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival (the Passover).
1 Corinthians 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
We can witness Jesus kept the Passover. So did his disciples even after the death of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we can see that the Passover is also a law of God.
The Veil Regulation
Weeds and Wheat–Another important law of God is the veil regulation which female members wore during the service and prayer time.
1Corinthians 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved.
6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head, … 13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? …16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.
Apostle Paul teaches that this regulation is a teaching from Jesus himself, and thus, a law of God. And he says that during the service or prayer men should not cover their head. And women must cover their head with a veil. He exclude all other contentions by simply saying that this is the right practice in the churches of God since this is a teaching of Christ.
Weeds and Wheat
Weeds and Wheat–Therefore, let us confirm the laws of God one more time. Since the true church is based on the teachings of Apostles and Christ, what we can prove through the bible is the true teachings of God.
|Jesus’ Teaching||Apostles’ Teaching|
These are true teachings of Jesus and his disciples. And we can call them the law of God and must obey them. They are the good seeds (the true gospel) which lead us to heaven.
Then what about some regulations commonly practiced by Christians as laws of God?
|Jesus’ Teaching||Apostles’ Teaching|
Even though these are most common practices among the so-called Christians nowadays, nowhere can we find the custom in the bible as teachings of Christ or his disciples. Therefore, we can conclude these are weeds or the false gospel sown by the devil. When we obey these teachings, we unknowingly practice the lawlessness and become the sons of the devil. These are the teachings which started to be preached after the death of Jesus and his disciples. (Sunday worship 321 AD, Christmas 336 AD, Cross 431 AD) All these man’s customs were introduced into Christianity as part of secularization of the Christianity in the time of Roman Emperor Constantine.
Weeds and Wheat–This parable of weeds and wheat gives us a clear standard which we should follow to enter the kingdom of heaven. Through this parable Jesus foretold the coming of the devil and his work. And also he let us know in advance how to be the children of God. We can be the sons of God through the good seed or the true gospel. The true gospel can be found in the bible which records the teachings of Jesus and his disciples directly to us.
All his teachings came true as he taught. Jesus spread the true laws of God to the world. But later the truth got lost by the work of the devil. In 321, the Sabbath was abolished, and the Sunday worship was introduced as the law of God. In 325, the Passover was abolished, and in its stead the Christmas was introduced. One by one, the false seeds were planted among the true seeds. Look at the field. The whole world is filled with the weeds. With its strong vitality, the weed is prevalent on the field.
The True Church: World Mission Society Church of God
Weeds and Wheat–Now the harvest has come and God is separating the weeds from the wheat. What He wants is the wheat even though it is small in amount. God is seeking his sons who follows the truth. And all those who practice the lawlessness would be made into a bundle and put into the fiery furnace. Therefore, now is the time to turn away from practicing the lawlessness. With a humble mind, let us seek God and his law. And God will forgive our sins and grant salvation.
Come to Zion, a.k.a. World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG), the city of God’s festivals. And keep the festivals of God, the 7 festivals of 3 times through which we can receive the abundant blessings from God.
