David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–One of the ways God uses to teach us the Christ is through the characters of the Bible such as Moses, Melchizedek, Elijah, and so on. Today I would like to show one character David who became the second king of Israel. Through this story of David as a shepherd, God teaches us the true shepherd Christ who would come as David. Spiritual David Ahnsahnghong came and fulfilled the prophecies of the Bible. Let us study about Spiritual David Ahnsahnghong.
David as Shepherd
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–Originally David was a shepherd. He even risked his life many times to protect his sheep from wild animals. This bravery of David is a little bit unusual considering that he was only in his early teens. According to the description of the Bible, Jesse, the father of David, had eight sons and 3 of them went to an army to fight the Philistines. It means three of the brothers were over 20, which was the military age of the time. And the rest of the five brothers were below 20. Among them, David was the youngest. Through this, we can estimate he must have been a little over 10 when the war took place.
However, the Bible emphasizes the courage of David through his brave words and deeds against Goliath, a Philistine warrior.
1 Samuel 17:34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–Through this story of David as a shepherd, God seems to teach us the mindset we should have as God’s people. Just like David God wants us to have trust in God and be courageous. David always believed in God that He would rescue him in the time of trouble. Out of this faith in God, he could fight bravely with Goliath as well as wild animals. God was pleased with David, and later he could be anointed as a king of Israel after Saul.
The first work of David as king was capturing Zion and establishing the City of David. Even though the people of Israel could conquer most of the cities of Canaan, they could not defeat the Jebusites who dwelt in Jerusalem, the central city of Canaan because the valleys around the city were working as a natural fortress protecting the city from enemies. But, David captured the city, and he built his kingdom on it. In this way, he could defeat all the enemies and bring peace and prosperity to the nation.
Prophetical David Christ and Good Shepherd
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–Through physical David, God teaches about Christ who would come as prophetical David, the true shepherd of God’s people, who would bring peace and safety to the nation of spiritual Israel. Let us first look at some of the prophecies of Ezekiel about the appearance of David in the last days. Prophet Ezekiel wrote this book around 560 BC about 450 years after King David died. Therefore, the David mentioned in this prophecy is not physical but spiritual or prophetical David, that is Christ. In this prophecy, God said that he would set up David as shepherd of his flock in the end time or “on a day of clouds and darkness.” (Ezekiel 34:12)
Ezekiel 34:22 I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another. 23 I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd. 24 I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.
As we can see through the tense of the sentences, this is a prophecy about the future. God says that he will set up David as a shepherd over his people. Considering that this prophecy was written 450 years after King David, we can assume that the David in this prophecy is spiritual. Then who fulfilled this prophecy?
Jesus, a True Shepherd
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–If we read the prophecies of David in the Bible, we can be sure that Jesus is the prophetical David. Christ Jesus was the one who received David’s throne (Luke 1:31), and He was the one who came as a true shepherd like David.
John 10:11 I (Jesus) am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
Jesus said that he was the good shepherd. Just like David risked his life to save his sheep from wild animals, Jesus also laid down his life to protect his flock or people from the Devil. However, even though Jesus was the prophetical David, the prophecy of David was not accomplished completely in his first coming. That is why he said that he would come as shepherd one more time.
The Second Coming Christ, Spiritual David Ahnsahnghong
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–About his coming as shepherd one more time, Jesus prophesied:
John 10: 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
He said that he would come to take care of another flock of sheep to gather them into the sheep pen he prepared for his people. It means he would come again as David for the second time and preach the gospel in the last days. We can confirm this through a mated verse.
Luke 12:50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!
In the spiritual sense, baptism means “anointment.” When Jesus got baptized, he received the Holy Spirit. According to the Bible, this baptism of Jesus represents his anointment as king. (Luke 4:18) For this reason, Jesus is called Christ or Messiah, which means “The Anointed One.” He got anointed to be a king like David. When Samuel anointed David, he receives the Spirit of God. (1 Samuel 16:13) The Bible records this event to teach us the spiritual David, Christ, the true Anointed One.
When Jesus said, “I have a (or another) baptism to undergo,” he prophesied that he would come for the second time to be anointed as king for the second time. In short, the Bible teaches that he must come down to this earth as a man in the flesh for the second time. And he would teach the laws of God through the gospel in the last days.
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd Restores The Passover of the New Covenant
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–Then how can we know the Christ who is coming as David in the last day? God already gave us the prophecies about the spiritual David. First, let us look at the sign of David through which we can know who David, the true shepherd, is.
Isaiah 55:3 Give ear and come to me; listen, that you (or your soul) may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.
God loved David and he promised “an everlasting covenant” to David to give “life to soul” or eternal life. Then what is this everlasting covenant? The one who brings this covenant must be the spiritual David. In the Book of Hebrews, Paul teaches that the new covenant of the Passover is the everlasting covenant God promised to David.
Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep.
According to this verse, God resurrected Jesus through the eternal or everlasting covenant which He established through the blood of Christ. And then what is the blood of Christ he shed to establish this covenant?
Luke 22:20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup (The wine of the Passover) is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
David Ahnsahnghong, the True Shepherd
David Ahnsahnghong Good Shepherd–Through this, we can see that the one who brings this new covenant of the Passover is the Second Coming Christ who would come as David, the true shepherd. During the Dark Age, the Devil abolished the Passover of the new covenant in 325 AD in the Council of Nicaea. Without the Passover, nobody could have a life for the soul.
Finally, this light of truth shone in this dark world by restoring the new covenant of the Passover by spiritual King David. It was Ahnsahnghong who brought back the new covenant God promised to David. Then who must Ahnsahnghong be? He must be the Spiritual David who was to appear in the last day to give us salvation. About this Prophet Hosea said:
Hosea 3:4 For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods. 5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.
According to this prophecy, God’s people must seek King David in the last day to receive the blessings of salvation and eternal life. To fulfill all the prophecies of the Bible, spiritual David, Ahnsahnghong, appeared to us as true shepherd to give us salvation. Christ Ahnsahnghong received a baptism in 1948 to fulfill the prophecy of the fig tree and David’s throne and started his ministry by preaching the gospel. He re-established the City of David Zion and restored the new covenant of the Passover. He is the true David we must seek. Now we must accept David Ahnsahnghong and keep the new covenant the Passover.
